Position Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assumes a daily clinical assignment (a shorter room may be chosen if admin time is necessary).
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient’s physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
- Makes daily room assignments.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining CRNA schedules (Holiday, PTO, call, etc.).
- Functions as a liaison between anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
- Functions as a liaison between staff CRNAs and administrative support staff and senior leadership.
- Provides leadership and directional support to CRNAs.
- Utilizes productivity and patient acuity information in developing staffing patterns and in adjusting personnel scheduling.
- Monitors Anesthesia activities as related to the quality of care. \Acts to resolve problems and /or effect change in response to data that indicate potential or actual problem situations.
- Provides for professional growth and development for patient care staff and establishes a climate conducive to educational needs and effort of the unit.
Position Requirements
- Current license as a registered professional nurse
- Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
- Certified or re-certified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
- Business acumen/leadership experience preferred.
