  • 1986
    • North Shore Anesthesia Associates, a community hospital group based at North Shore-LIJ Health Systems, forms in Manhasset, New York.
  • 1996
    • North Shore Anesthesia Associates makes their first geographic service expansion into New York’s Hudson Valley.
  • 2001
    • North Shore Anesthesia Associates renames itself North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA).
  • 2002
    • NAPA expands to include two new states, Maryland and New Hampshire.
  • 2006
    • NAPA continues to grow with the addition of Pennsylvania.
  • 2008
    • NAPA’s expansion extends to New Jersey hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and offices.
  • 2011
    • NAPA now provides services to the entire tri-state area with new locations in Connecticut.
  • 2013
    • NAPA partners with Arrowsight to create NAPA Peak Performance²® to improve patient safety and perioperative efficiencies.
  • 2014
    • NAPA expansion continues with a new presence in Virginia and Illinois.
  • 2015
    • NAPA acquires ProCare Systems, Inc. to manage and grow our chronic pain management practices.
    • NAPA announces that we care for more than one million patients annually.
  • 2016
    • NAPA announces American Securities and Leonard Green & Partners as our new private equity partners.
    • Delivering anesthesia and pain services to residents and visitors of the 11 states NAPA serves, we now deliver high-quality care to patients who live in all 50 states.
  • 2017
    • NAPA establishes a regional structure that introduces both clinical and operational leadership experts who deliver dedicated resources to all our sites.
    • NAPA recognized as Top Ranked Anesthesia Department Outsourcing Vendor by Black Book Market Research.
  • 2018
    • NAPA expands into three new geographies with Massachusetts, Delaware, and D.C.
    • NAPA expands our portfolio of ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals, and office-based practices with the acquisition of Aisthesis.
    • NAPA’s facility in Southington, CT, earns top ranking in EdgePerception Performance Analysis Report for its outstanding anesthesia department for the second consecutive year.
  • 2019
    • NAPA expands anesthesia services in California.
    • NAPA selected by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare for the fourth consecutive year.
    • North Shore University Hospital and NAPA’s Obstetric Anesthesia team is awarded the SOAP Center of Excellence designation. One of only 39 hospitals worldwide!
  • 2020
    • NAPA acquires American Anesthesiology; now one of the largest anesthesia providers in U.S. The acquisition added seven states.
    • Ten NAPA sites were ranked as top hospitals by Leapfrog.
    • NAPA received four straight A’s for its hospital safety grades.
  • 2021
    • NAPA earns fifth consecutive #1 ranking for anesthesia management services in Black Book Survey
